Criminal Profiler’s Q&A and the West Point Honor Code

Honor Code“I will not lie, cheat, steal, or tolerate those who do”.

Criminal profiler’s Q&A:
Q: Who is more likely to have a character defect: (a) those who are caught lying and cheating in a small way when something menial or trivial was on the line, or (b) those who lie and cheat in a big way for large personal gain?

A: The conventional answer is (b) because something was so big or important that he became greedy and cheated, but in contrast to conventional thinking, the answer is more likely to be (a) because if a person is willing to lie and cheat for something small, can you imagine what he is willing to do when it comes down to something big?
