One Simple Formula for HappinessHappiness = acquisitions/desires. Wealthy people who have a lot of desires may never be happy despite their enormous acquisitions if their desires outstrip their acquisitions, e.g. 100 acquisitions/1,000 desires = 1/10 ratio = unhappiness. Persons who can voluntarily cultivate a simple lifestyle of few desires are typically the happiest, e.g. 10 acquisitions/5 desires = 2 or greater than 1:1 ratio = happiness. The insightful and disciplined focus on the way of desire reduction, whereas most others focus on acquisitions to keep up with escalating desires. Which do you think is the wiser approach toward happiness?
